How to Apply for e-Driving License for Punjab, Pakistan

Driving licence is crucial for an individual who’s practically driving on the roads of Pakistan. As authorities are taking strict measures for people driving without a licence, it’s imperative that you apply for a Licence, if you don’t already have one. However, going to centres and applying for a driving licence isn’t easy for everybody. Therefore, the DLIMS has now been formally introduced that allows you to apply for a driving licence online in the comfort of your home.

How to Apply for e-Driving License for Punjab 2023

Due to the efforts of PITB, an online management system has been created which is only for citizens of Punjab as of yet. Here’s a step by step guide to help you apply for an e-Driving license for Punjab, Pakistan in 2023 through DLIMS.

1. In the first step, you’ll need to open your web browser and login to the DLIMS website.
2. After you’ve logged in on the website, you’ll need to go to the downloads section and download your required license form.
3. Afterwards, fill out the form and locate the nearest testing centre by clicking on the Licence Center tab on the website.
4. Then, just submit the documents needed alongside the form to the test center and wait for a period of 42 days.
5. After 42 days of learning period, you’ll then have to meet the licensing authority for further testing.
6. There will be a theoretical test after 42 days at the centre which you’ll need to pass to move to the next step.
7. Lastly, you just need to pass the driving test taken by the authority and you will get your licence.

Documents Required for Permanent License 

Below is a list of documents required for a permanent driving license. Keep in mind that the documents needed for a permanent driving license are different from those of temporary license or learner.

1. An Attested copy of your CNIC.
2. A medical certificate
3. 3 passport size photographs. Ensure that they’re attested.
4. The fee ticket that will be mentioned on the application or form you download.
5. The application form that you’ve downloaded alongside your Learner permit.
