The MSC United VIII ship that departed from King Abdullah Port and en route to Pakistan was attacked in the Red Sea. The shipping company stated that no crew member was injured during this incident.
The ship came under attack by Houthis as they fired a missile upon it. However, the company suggests that no crew member was injured.
The Houthis have been targeting Israeli ships to show solidarity with Palestine after Gaza came under attack by Israel in October.
The Houthi General Yahya stated that several warnings were issued to the ship but nobody responded upon which they were forced to fire upon the ship.
Tensions have been on the rise in the Red Sea after Yemen and Iran had started targeting ships in the Red Sea.
Due to this, several companies have suspended operations in the Red sea and sources suggest that an estimated $10 million in losses have been incurred by Israel.
The US Fighter Jets and Destroyer stated that they took down 12 Drones, 3 anti-ballistic missiles, and two cruise missiles were intercepted.
Moreover, they stated that tensions are on the rise again in the Red sea as the UK’s Maritime Trade Operations Authority stated that two weeks ago two explosions were detected in the Red sea.
The Houthis control much of Yemen and they remain strong on their stance to show solidarity with the people of Gaza.
