NASA warns Solar Storm can Hit on November 30, 2023 causing Blackout

NASA has warned that a massive solar storm can hit earth on November 30th, 2023. The effects of this storm can be disastrous and can cause total global blackout for a long period of time.

Solar storms are not actual storms with clouds, lightning, and thunder. You would be amazed to know that the earth is hit by solar storms frequently. Aurora Borealis is an example as the Northern lights are created when Radiation enters the ionosphere.

Solar storms are created when the sun ejects colossal amounts of radiation and gases which are commonly referred as Solar flares. Solar flares are monstrous explosions that occur on the sun, more powerful than billions of nuclear bombs.

This discharges a colossal stream plasma towards the earth. When a great number of solar flares are ejected, a solar storm is formed. It’s usually not that dangerous as the earth’s Magnetosphere, especially the Magneto sheath protects it from harmful radiations.

However, solar storms can cause severe damage to GPS systems and power systems as high energy particles are blasted towards earth and can cause damage to Satellites that are orbiting the earth.

Solar storms can be deadly and can disrupt all electrical grids and power stations alongside GPS systems. In February, 2011 a CME Solar flare disrupted all communications of China for a long time. Experts suggest that Solar storms can cause 20 to 40 times more economic damage than the strongest hurricane.

Solar storms hit earth every 11 years. Sometimes their effects are minute while other times they can be devastating.

Scientists have warned again that a Solar storm might hit the planet on November 30th, 2023. If Earth gets a direct hit in areas where the magnetosphere is weakest, we could see a blackout of all radio signals, GPS systems, and Electric power stations for a long time.
