Government bans leaves for employees till elections

The order is issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Pakistan on behalf of ECP. Due to the upcoming elections, leaves of all government officials for Islamabad Territory have been cancelled and will no longer be accepted as well.

The elections are scheduled for February next year, February 8th to be specific. Until then, no government official will be given a leave.

The order came directly from the Election Commission of Pakistan. A notification was issued by ECP to clarify the decision.

According to sources, sick leaves might be granted but only for maternity caes and that too with the evidence of a medical practitioner.

Moreover, officials of the education system are instructed not to leave the city during the winter vacations as they’ll be needed right after the vacations end.

Moreover, the Deputy Commissioner also states that the officials need to be present at their stations. He also instructed to attend the polling staff training.
