Passport Printing Starts Again in Pakistan After Recent Hault

PC: The New International

After a week-long wait in passport printing operations due to the lack of lamination paper, printing resumes again all over Pakistan as lamination paper is now available.

There had been a backlog of numerous passport applicants. Citizens across Pakistan were waiting to receive their passports for travelling purposes and are now relieved as the operations have begun once again.

The backlog was estimated to be about 700,000 passport applications. This caused a lot of unrest amongst the citizens of Pakistan upon which the DG I&P had taken swift action.

Action taken by DGI&P to Resume Passport Printing

Upon the unrest amongst the individuals awaiting their passports and a humongous backlog of applications, DG I&P has taken swift action and has solved the issue of lack of lamination paper. Moreover, with collaboration from the Ministry and staff, additional machinery has been made operational to alleviate the troubles of citizens awaiting their passports.

He had said in an official statement that the services have now been removed and all hurdles have been removed and to facilitate the citizens the printing process will also continue over the weekend on Saturdays and Sundays.

This shows the commitment of the DG I&P to ensure timely issuance of the long-awaited passports of the citizens. Moreover, he also announced the revised timings for offices across Pakistan and mentioned how they’ll be operational from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM from Monday to Thursday. However, the offices are due to close at 12:30 PM on Fridays.

This came as a major relief to the individuals who had scheduled travel plans. Their plans will no longer be altered or halted and they can proceed timely according to schedule. Many International students were tense as their classes had begun across the globe but they couldn’t travel due to the lack of a passport.Change in Passport Office Timings Across Pakistan: Check New Timings Here
